The King of Glory Entering Zion.

Psalms 24:2 - 4 (NASB) ³ Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? ⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully.

QUESTION: What are the characteristics of people God wants/accepts for worship?

ANSWER: Those with a clean hands and a pure heart; those who have not dealt falsely nor sworn deceitfully.

COMMENT: But God, I can’t do this or be this in and of my self…I need help

CONCLUSION: But thanks be to God who has done this for us through Jesus Christ.

ACTION: Accept what He has done in my place for me…and go out in His strength to live this way.

CHAPTER 25

One can’t read this Psalm without the tune going through your mind that contains the words of this Psalm.

COMMENT: Anyone with any ability to reason at all, that looks at the world around him, with all the order, looks at man with the incredible sophistication and order, looks at the planets and their moons and rings keeping precise orbits and harmonically related distances…can not look at that and say there is not a Designer behind all this, a Creater that has made it, planned it, designed it. … there is a God. Only a fool would say there is no God…a fool who doesn’t want to deal with the concept that if there is a God, then I must get to know Him, find out what He wants of me, and become responsible to Him….that is TOO much for a fool.

Prayer for Protection from the Wicked.

2. Consider my groaning
3. Heed my cry for help

1. You hear my voice in the morning
2. In the morning I will pray to you (and watch)

i. Not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness

ii. Not filled with evil

iii. Boastful don’t stand before You

iv. Hate all who do iniquity

v. Destroy those who speak falsehood

vi. One who abhors bloodshed and deceitful man

2. But me?

i. I will enter Your house by Your loving-kindness

ii. I will bow in reverence at Your holy temple

1. Lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes
2. Make Your way straight before me

1. There is nothing reliable in what they say
2. Their inward part is destruction itself
3. Their throat is an open grave
